It has been over a year now that Lang House Chicago was converted from a Bed & Breakfast to a vacation rental and event space. Located right next door to Emil Bach House, a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home, both of these houses provide unique accommodations for vacation stays and private events.
Spring is usually the beginning of our busy season for vacations and weddings. Our houses should be full of guests right now enjoying the warmth and elegance of a home away from home, but our circumstances are different this year. We miss our guests!
Although we don’t currently have guests staying with us, there is always something to do at a vacation rental. While we wait with everyone else for this crisis to pass, we wanted to share what we are working on at Lang House Chicago including initiatives underway to improve your experience.
Cleaning & Organizing
Cleaning between guests is a routine part of our job, and we take pride in the home and its appearance. Of course, we follow best cleaning practices for hospitality businesses, but we like to go the extra mile by paying attention to details in every room, and our guests notice! We have deep cleaning routine protocols for monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual tasks. We are currently taking this time to do everything on those lists, so the houses are ready for your visit when you are ready to travel again.
We follow CDC guidelines for the prevention of viruses, including COVID-19, and use products from the USEPA approved list of disinfectants on all surfaces and in the laundry process.
Additionally, we are freshening linen closets, kitchen drawers, bathroom storage, and cleaning supply closets. Our team handles furniture repairs, touch up painting, and anything else that needs attention or an upgrade.
Next door at Emil Bach House, we’ll be installing our seasonal tent in the backyard this week in preparation for summer events, outdoor yoga, and open houses for the community. We will also be installing new outdoor landscape lighting at both houses to illuminate gathering spaces for evening parties, and to showcase these beautiful homes. Finally, we have ordered new comfortable robes for the bedrooms and massage room, and new jigsaw puzzles for the game room!
Lang House can be a perfect antidote for cabin fever when we are all able to travel again. We have a keyless entry system for “no contact” check-in and check-out, and you and your family or friends will have the whole house to yourselves. Rental includes two garage spaces and one parking space in the driveway next to the house, two full kitchens, a game room, massage room, living room with a fireplace, and seven bedrooms. The house provides plenty of space for your group to be together, but with room to do your own thing too.
Look for our “Cabin Fever Special” to be announced here on our website in May. We are getting ready for you at Lang House Chicago!
